FAQs

What style of yoga do you teach?

Our classes are more about the time of day and the teachers teaching them than a particular style of yoga. We’re making allowances for an evolution of traditional practices so they’re relevant to our contemporary world.

Each teacher combines their own eclectic lineage, experiences, and skills with a common intent to make their practices accessible, functional, suitably challenging, and supportive. Check the teacher profiles for more information.

What level of yoga are the classes?

All of our classes are taught across all skill levels, incorporating the many and varied strengths and weaknesses we all have.

If you have never done yoga before, we do recommend signing up for a Beginner’s Course which will help you to avoid feeling like you’re getting tied in knots and to understand better what is being asked of your body and mind so you feel comfortable entering any of our classes.

I’m not flexible enough to do yoga!

We hear this all the time and it’s just an attempt to avoid the thing you probably need the most! So yeah - that’s one of the precise reasons you should come!!

We tend to find that the more extreme your flexibility or inflexibility is, the more likely you are to sustain injury if you do nothing about it. It’s a long game of seeking balance as our bodies constantly change over time. We aim to keep you as mobile as possible for as long as possible.

Which classes will be good for me?

We have an Introductory Pass so you can explore as many classes as you can over a two-week period. You will of course love all our fabulous teachers but you may find some times and styles suit you better than others.

What’s with the HANSA REST classes?

We fully understand and appreciate the level of stress that everyone has been experiencing of late, and decided we wanted to do something constructive about it. In the Hansa Rest classes, you will be cocooned to an elevated level of comfort while quietly guided through very simple breathing techniques. This is time to simply do nothing, so that your nervous system has the opportunity to steady and reset.

Because we think this is so enormously important and we only want to enhance your evening slumber, we have carefully selected the times of day we offer this particular class. However, to ensure everyone gets the benefit, all of our classes finish with a significant rest period in proportion to the length of the class.
